DEATH OF MRS. PERMKLIA EK8. Mrs. Permelia, widow of the late Rev. Ebeneaer Rodgecs, the well known pioneer Baptist preacher, died at two o'clock Wednesday morning at the residence residence of hef daughter, Mrs. Dr. Lemon, in Upper Alton, after a week's illness of pneumonia, at .the age' of 77 years, 7 months. ' Deceased was born in Lincoln county, Kentucky, removed to Missouri in 1818, where she married her late husband in 182S, and [in J18S3 to Upper Alton," where 'ste resided until her death, a period of 60 years. 'She ''WAS among the last of tbe original members of tho Baptist; church of Upper Alton; a. faithful, consistent Christian, loved and respected , by all. Her death will °e a great affliction to her relatives, friends and acquaintances and a loss to the whole community to whom she had become endeared by a lifetime of usefulness and devotion to others. Among the old settlers.'olsd, her associates in pioneer times, the news oi her death will be_received with, sincere sorrow. Mrs . Rodgers leaves six children^ children^ Mrs., 8. A. Badley, Col. A. F. Rodgew, Edward Rodgers, Rynold Rodgers, Mrs. Susan P. Lemon,* all of Upper Alton, and Hon. H. P. Rodgers of Mariana, Ark., besides other relatives and friends to mourn her death..
