Proof is hard to come by on either side of issue To the Journal Mr. Lorbeck's letter on May 14 regarding Dan Houlihan's views on the nonexistence of God almost got it right. But it presents only one side of the coin. Let me begin by stating I am a Baha'i and that I firmly believe in the existence of God. Furthermore, as a scientist, I believe it is more parsimonious to posit the existence of God than to suggest there is no God. I base this on a variety of lines of reasoning, but I do not have the space to expand on my reasons here. Of course, there are other educated, intelligent people who feel otherwise. Mr. Lorbeck is absolutely correct in noting you cannot prove the nonexistence of God and presents a well-reasoned approach to the topic. I don't know what Dan thought, but I rather liked the
