Left His Money in Coat Joseph' Card, sr., the Dead Dog hill mining man, has returned from a visit to Chicago, and other Illinois points. During bis absence, he got a little taste of tbe panic. Shortly before Mr. Card left the Hills he sold considerable considerable mining property and he carried to Illinois quite a wad of money. Not caring to carry all of it with him, he deposited tbe greater portion of it in one of the Illinois banks. They took his money with a smile, but when he got ready to come home and asked for his funds he was told he must wait a little while until the bank could call in some of its loans. He finally prevailed upon the officials to give him enough so that he could get back to God's country.
