Burges, of El Paso, needs a number of men and Lieut. Cooper W. McKemy has arrived here to make a "drive” for the men. Permission has been secured from Gen. E. St. J. Tex.: Dear Friend—The permission has been obtained from Gen. Greble to recruit “A” company, and in fact the 141st regiment, t‘> war strength, before the 15th of February. Owing to the great number of promotions that have been made from “A” company, and the number of men who by reason of special fitness have been detailed for work at regimental or division headquarters, and on special service, the company is now 80 men below war strength. Capt. Burges is very anxious to fill up this number with the same class of men as those constituting the present company and. of course, would like to have them from El Paso or this vicinity in order that the company would continue to be representative of this county and section. The men In class “1” who will be called on Feb. 15 will be permitted to select the regiment and company they desire to join at any time before the 15th, and Lieut.
