The first distrijct which is in the northeast part of the county docs not elect a commissioner this year. Sacking the Republican .nomination for sheriff there is Lester B. Beames, Belleville; W. G. Campbell, Belleville; W. H. Heifer, Republic; Carl T. Larson, Scandia; Andy Moore, Republic; Ruth B. Nordman-Loring, Scandia, and Charles H, Peterka, Cuba. Those seeking the Democratic nomination are: E. A. Campbell, Wayne; Bruce M. Policy, Belleville; Grant Thompson, Belleville, and Fi'ed L. Wineland, Belleville. Candidates Active All of the candidates arc active. There are not any who are lagging way behind as there arc in most elections, and the unusual number se.eking the nominations makes jjredictions worth little. The campaigner putting in the best licks these remaining days is going to gain ground, and many contrary predictions are therefore heard relative to the outcome of the races on both tickets for the sheriff noniinatidns. In the socoiid district for counly commissioner there is oh the Republican' ticket: C. Gr^spegren, ilepublic; Frank Granstedt, Scandia, and Frank E. Williams, Rydal. Those seeking the Democratic nomination in the second district are: Frank E. Beck and Charles, both of Republic. T.- J. In the third dL-strict the Republican candidates are E. E. Dillehay. Agenda; Frahli: Kasl, BcUe- 1 ville, andjC. A. Lindahl, Agenda. Democratic candidates in third district are: B. B. Houdek, Cuba; Bide Sanford, Belleville, A. F. Stepanek, Cuba, and F. W. Washichek, Cuba. Not so much. campaigning by the candidates for county commissioner. Considerable talk in some 1 townships, but there is not the activity among the candidates, at least, to date. -—Republic—counly—pcoplc_..shoukl not minimize the importatice of electing capable men to fill the two commissioner offices. The county is going through a critical period, along with individual businesses, and the county's best cquipiH -'d men should" be elected, that the business of the county will be conducted well.
