Last Tuesday morning after .a long and gainful illness S. Raisn Wallis a well known snd worthy citizen bf this parish departed this life, from the time of his early day* as a soldier boy: in the Conjerdeate Army, now many years ago, deceased was always well though^'of and highly esteemed by all wno knew him. He was gifted by nature with many noble qualities. He was honorable in all his dealings and uniformly industrious in habit ; he was patient and charitable in intercourse with his fellow men. He was a member of the Methodist Church of this place and of Hope Lodge A. F * A. M.. ua was loiiowsa 10 niB issi resting place by a large concourse of relatives and friends. As a husband and father be wai> devoted, watchful and kind. He leaves s wife and three children, .and to them wc tender earnest sympaltfy, in their hour of bereavement. '
