lie Certainly Fell Among Thieves. David II. Grove, residing at 1315 Alder street, had several drinks In a saloon near New Market Market and Vine streets on Monday evening with strangers who were present. Grovo had some money, which he showed freely. When lie departed his new fricuds enthusiastically offered to accompany him to Front street. On the way they suddenly struck him with a sand - bag, broke his nose and beforo lie got over his dizziness his pockets were cleaned of 870 anil his watch and chain. Special Kdwards arrested Michael Comber, a " hard case," and Grove identified him as one of his treacherous boon companions. Comber was committed for a hearing.
