Arson at Murphy House: Fetzer, Murphy
SOUTH SCRANTON WOMAN IS CHARGED WITH ARSON Mrs. Otto Fetzer Is Blamed for Blaze That Damaged Her Home Last Month. Mrs. Otto Fetier, of South Scranton, was held for court last night on a charge of arson, by Alderman John U. Schwenker. The warrant pn which the woman was arrested was sworn out by her husband, and was servedi on Mrs. Fetzer at the home of her parents, 613 Beech street. Up to July 3, the Fetzers lived at 627 Beech street, in the upstairs apartment of a dwelling house owned by Michael Murphy, of Buffalo, and occupied on the lower floor by Hugh Murphy, his brother. Hugh Murphy was the principal witness at the hearing. He told of the house being damaged by a fire on the morning of July 3, and alleged that Mrs. Fetzer, dressed in her street apparel and carrying a suitcase, ran into his apartments to warn him of the blaze. Mr. Murphy alleged that when he ran upstairs to see how serious the fire was, he found the carpets saturate with korosene oil and saw three separate hlazes, in the kitchen, dining room and bed room of the Fetzr apartment. Mr. Fetzer, it was said, had left his home for work at 6:RO o'clock on the morning of the fire, leaving his wife. - alone In the apartment. The Fetzers have been separated since the fire.
