Cornelius McCullough injured in car accident. 19 August 1912
C M, McCullough. tbe well-known roofing contractor of Lansdowne had a narrow escape from serious injury late on Friday afternoon -w&an the automobile he was driving was crashed into by a .speeding car of much heavier type and the machine swept into a teresrapli pole. The co jiision -which was said by to be the fault of the driver of the other car, occurred on Chestnut street at 45th. McCullough was driving his own car -on Chestnut street whan without warning the other machine swung round a corner and hit McCullough's a^to driving it into a nearby pole and pinning McCullough between the car and pole. McCullough fortunately escapea with a few cuts and lacerations and the driver of the other car was similarly lucky, but both machines were wrecked. - McCulIough's machine had its wind shield splintered, the wheel guards twist-ad and two- wheels torn .from the body of the Vehicle. _ The driver of the other car, fhos-3 name could not be teamed is said to be a well-known second-hand . auto dealer of Philadelphia . ._. . ."
