The Mexia chapter is the largest single unit in the state, eclipsed only by the mammoth membership of the Texas Department of Corrections. Mrs, Bayless compiled the book as n- history of the past year's activities, collecting news clippings, pictures, newsletters and correspondence, theii pasting Iliehi inlo a permanent record. J.T. Vickcry, director of the on- campus workshop, fashioned the cover from a rough-finished Wood, binding il with leather straps. Lnrry Jones designed the lettering for both the front and the back covers. The scrapbook win is 119! unique for the local TPEA chapter, ns their history won first place in 1975, although from a smaller field of entries. Mrs. Bayless is already making plans for a much earlier start on the 1977 book.
