Rites Held Today For Mrs. Josephine Mason Mrs. Josephine Liddle Mason, aged 80 years and four months, died at home on West Center street on Monday, Dec. 14. "Aunt Joe" as she was familiarly known, had been ailing more than year, yet her closest friends did not realize the serious r nature of this illness. Mrs. Mason was born August 14, 1856, in Dearborn county. She was the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Liddle and was one of nine children, all of whom are now deceased except one sister, Mrs. Carrie Bryant of this city. She was married Oct. 13, 1878, to Wiliam Mason, who ceded her to the grave Sept. 13, 1883. Mrs. Mason was a widow. 53 years. She was a member of Hamline Chapel M. E. church for a number of years. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand in time of distress. Upon the death of her brother, Thomas Liddle, she took the responsibility. of caring for his six children. She gave them all a mother love and affection. She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Carrie Bryant; three •nieces, Mrs. Sadie Macker, Mrs.: Carrie Abbott of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. George, Gaynon of Cincinnati, and two nephews, Thomas Addyston, O., and James Liddle of Lawrenceburg, and a host of other relatives and friends. Fitch Bros. home Thursday, Funeral services, will be held at Dec. 17, with the Rev. H. R. Page officiating. Burial will be in Greendale cemetery.
