FELCH NEWS Felch, Mich., May 13. (Special) —The big gala celebration was attended by the largest crowd that ever attended t festivity in Felch. Over one thousand people were present and over two hundred hundred seventy cars. The Norway City Rand commenced playing in the park, due to rain they were compelled to finish the concert on the balcony of the Rian Hotel. The celebration was to com- menorate the fiftieth anniversary of Andrew Rian's landing in America. America. It was also a real home coming. Speeches were given by such old timers as Alfred Anderson, Anderson, Swan Peterson, Mr. Farell and Carl Lund. Sunt. Plomquist of Amasa snoke on “Mr. Rian and Felch.” Rev. Frank Peterson portraved the history of Mr. Rian from 1880 when he worked for 75 cents a day and twenty dollars dollars a month as a shoe maker and a farm hand respectively. Due to the rain the Norway baseball team was unable to meet the “Druids." Thev will meet later. Next Sunday the “Druids” will play Iron Mountain. The children of the Felch school district will plant 5,000 n?ne trees at the Norway Lake Reservation on Tuesday. Each teacher will be in charge of a group of children. The election of members and oficers will be announced later.
