To Remove Bodies On motion of Councilman BucI Walz, the council voted to f inane the transfer of bodies, Negroe remaining in the old Hedge Grove cemetery on High street to a tract in city cemetery. Duke Diggs, heading a delegation of Negroes, told the counci that with subscription from other Negroes of the city, "about half of the bodies have been moved." "We collected $200 from the Negro population and have movec about half of the bodies," he said "But we have exhausted our funds and therefore we are asking you to help us complete the job.".
