Rites Set for Tyndall HS Grad TYNDALL — Military rites at the Arlington National Cemetery will be held Friday for Lt. Colonel Patrick J. Hagarty, 49, who died this week at the Betheseda Naval Hospital in Washington, D.C. Mr. Hagarty, well-known Tyndall native, had retired in 1967 after serving as business manager of the Northern Virginia Community College, a school of over 10,000 students in Annadale, Va. He had served 25 years in the Marine Corps serving at Okinawa and China on overseas duty and many east coast stations including Marine Headquarters where he was an aide to the assistant Secretary of the Navy for two years. He was a 1942 graduate of Tyndall High School. He is survived by his widow, the former Marjorie Taplett of Tyndall; six children, Mrs. Bruce (Cheryl) Carlson of Chicago, Mike Hagarty of Texas; Patrick Jr., a senior at MacMurray State College and Theresa, Marion and Lori of Annadale; his mother, Mrs. Helen Hagarty of Tyndall and one sister of Tyndall.
