Company D First Unit Of Guard To Join Army Fort Knox, Ky., Novumber 28 (AP) The 76 officers and men of Company D, 192nd Tank Battalion from Harrodsburg, arrived at Fort Knox today to become the first National Guard unit of Kentucky to Join the United States Army. They were commanded by Cap tain Bacon R. Moore. In ten trucks, with their four light tanks, the company was the first unit of the 192nd Battalllon-whlch Battalllon-whlch Battalllon-whlch la composed of other com' panics from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Ohio to report for duty. Shortly after their arrival an ad vance unit of Wisconsin's A Com pany, one officer and 23 men also turned up. Scheduled to arriva early Friday morning Is ths rest of A Company and the eight officers and 216 en listed men of B Company from Illinois. Illinois. C Company, 46 Ohioans, will arrive later Friday. Tho four companies will begin in tensive training with armored force and will be organised Into a sup porting tank battalion attached directly directly to ths general headquarters of the armored force, as distinct from troops operating with one of the two divisions of the force. Other officers with the Harrods burg unit are First Lieutenants Truman Mayes and u. tt. uriuin, Second Lieutenants Edwin B. Rice and J. A. Vanarsdale.
