off in sugar- in the ' i Nature's Way (New York World Telegram) The lovely serenity with which Mrs. Virginia Marguerite Heil, of Fort Lee. N. J., yesterday talked to inquiring reporters about her twenty-fourth twenty-fourth twenty-fourth baby impressed us as a point to use next time conversation conversation gets around to the current current crisis. Mrs. Heii is only 41. She and her husband, the foreman for a contracting firm, have 16 living children, eight dead. Their eldest eldest is 23. She said that the most recent, Patricia Joan. 11 days old, was positively the last, and then added philosophically, "That's what I said the last time." Big families are news, nowadays. nowadays. The Heil family would have been worth looking at any time and any place. In the city such a brood would impress most people as sheer impossibility. But just-across just-across just-across the river at Fort Lee, Mrs. Heil accepts a new baby with joy. Never mind all the groceries that have to be provided. Thanks to the wide oceans, even today we don't have to regard children as cannon fodder. Putting just one more plate on the table, doubtless, doesn't make much difference. difference. Invasions, dictatorships, depressions and fanaticism wrack the world. But life goes on. Congratulations Congratulations and thanks to Mrs. Heil for reminding us! Flease Turn to rage Seven
