Sidney Mercer, nationally known i ports commentator, who died re-. re-. mrntly. will be held here at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday, when the ashes will be placed In the Mercer lam ily vault. . Mr. Mercer, who was born and reared In Paxton, but who had for many year lived In New York 4 ly, returned to Paxton once or twice each year before hi death to visit friend. At these times he was usually honored by a "cct to aether which was held In the cabin of his friend, Harold Stevens, Stevens, editor of the Paxton Dally fjecord. His most recent visit was a year and a half a go.
