Herman Alexander anil Gordon Downing, ministers, will officiate. Burial w i n in the Rest Haven Mausoleum in Lubbock under direction of LaGronc Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will he Troy Rnr- rns, Joe Abbot, Harold and Norris Root, Foster Parker a n d Bruce VVinn. They arc former students of Mrs. Simms. - Horn n e a r Lubhock, Simms dicri shortly after noon ' Thursday in her home south of Canyon. She had been ill for Iliree months. Mrs. Simins married C e c Parmer Simms on Feb. IS, 1931, and the couple moved lo Canyon in 1042. She had been head of Hie English department in Canyon High School for 17 and taught senior English. She had transferred to Ihe junior high school as librarian after becoming ill. Majoring in English, M r s ,.--.-Simms received a bachelor of clatc arls degree from Texas Tech and a master's degree f r West Texas Slate University Wltlmv She recently started work on a degree in library science. Organizer a n d sponsor c many school organizations, Mrs. Simms was a member of thc Ccnlral Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, .Mrs. Alice Diet/, of Canyon; a sister, Mrs. Golda \Voods of Colorado, and two grandchildren.
