C.E. "Jim" Harshbarger Clair E. "Jim" Harshbarger, 77, of 703 Upton Street, Akron, Ohio, formerly of Mapleton, died on Sunday, August 22,1976 at his home. A native of Ryde, he was born December 10, 1899 to Mose and Martha Harshbarger. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons. ' Surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Beulah Bailey, Mapleton; Mrs. Carrie Acker, Tuckerton, N.J.; Clark, Mapleton and Lester, Mount Union R.D. The deceased was of the Protestant faith. He resided in Mapleton until 1922, when he moved to Akron. There, he was employed by the General Rubber Company. He retired as the firm's head shipping clerk. During World War I, he served with Air Squadron A from the start of this country's involvement until the end of the conflict. Funeral services and interment will take place on Thursday, August 26, in Akron.
