Mo., Oct. 1.—Mrs. jiurah Whitehead, an aged woman Wwildlng with her son, Floyd White- Iread. four miles southeast of Cartilage, Cartilage, was seriously burned at her home Friday when a shawl which •hjB wore about her head caught fire u she waa kindling a lire in a stove, .ytlf Mears and her son were at work building a fence near the house and heard her 8crean\. They rushed to h^r and succeeded in smothering Iheflameii wltli their coatisl but not before she was badly burned about the,, head and shoulders. Dr. J. H. Briagdon of Reeds dressed the woman's Injuries. Her condition is considered serious.
