Readers of the Daily News rend with -ntcrcEt in the issue of last urday a description of this engine, the first to be built in Hamilton. As was stated in the account t engine now is being given a scrus of preliminary testings before being started upon its official 30 day nonstop nonstop test, which is to be made full load conditions. To meet tV/jso. conditions the engine now is beingi run daily and given such adjustments as are found necessary. Since the start of these preliminary tests th c engine has been oparaiinjr, more and more satisfactorily v witli the result that it now is thought may be in readiness for the official teat next week. During the SO day period of (Sici official trial representatives of thc U. S. Shipping Board and other tors are looked for here to note ths performance- of the engine. They will come and go according to no fixed schedule. Capt. R. D. Gate-wood, manager maintenance and repair division of tho U. S. Fleet Corporation, was a visitor at the H. O. R. shop last after seeing the engine in operation- he expressed himself very mucli pleased. The finding following the. completion completion of the 30 day trial is c xpectJed to be announced very shortly nfljÂ»r the end is reached. This will be followed closely in order by the dismantling dismantling of the engine and its shipment shipment to th e seaboard for installation in the vessel destined to receive it.
