MINES AND MINING CALIFOBNIA Notes From the Mining DimleU of the State The Grass Valley Tidinjt publishes the following items We We are informed by Tin Low the Chinatown merchant that to him and a number of hia countrymen is due the credit for the discovery of the famous Allison Kanch mine Tin Loy says that many yean ago a Chinese company of which he was a member leased a claim in the bed ot - Wolf creek and washed the deposited gravel While so engaged the ledge in question was uncovered and reported to the men who were subsequently known as the original owners of the Allison Ranch quartz mine These men purchased purchased the Chinese companys lease for 1 1000 and developed the ledge sufficiently sufficiently to convince them of its richness richness when the shaft was put down and fortunes made The elated owners of the mine afterward ceded the Chinese Chinese the right to wash the creek gravel
