The trials under the license ordinance were bagun yesterday morning in the police court, but not being completed at noon, the hearing was continued to Wednesday the 10th. . A Marriage license was issued yesterday to Adam Becker, of Jefferson county, and Emma Bolz, of Shawnee. One wa3 also issued to a couple who evidently desire to surprise their friends some of these days, and requested their names witheld. Sheldon Young, a colored man arrested the day before for trifling with his neighbor's hen roost, meekly admitted to Judge Arnold that he had taken two chickens. The fine was fixed at $20 and after allowing the gentleman to break rock half a day, his employer paid the bill.
