A Hard Fought Case. The case of The Connecticut Mu tual Insurance Co. vg. Bishop was a. heard by Justice Leech and a jury a part of last week and Monday of his week, it being a suit to dispos sess defendant of a farm and for a writ of restitution. The jury returned returned a verdict at midnight Mon day for the plaintiff, and on Wednesday Wednesday Officers Johnson, Fairholm and Carter, accompanied by Mr. Collins, western land agent of the company, went to ths Bishop farm, east of Winchester, where the officers officers set the household goods out and took possession. They had quite a job of it, taking up the carpets, carpets, moving the heavy stoves, etc. ireeman Bishop was not present, but his son, a young man, was there, with a revolver belted on him, tho' he offered no resistance. A woman, said to be from Kansas City amd acting as housekeeper, took her seat in a rocking-chair rocking-chair rocking-chair which she said was hers and declared she wouldn't move. When everything else was out, she was asked to vacate but said the first man who touched her would get hurt. She had a razor in her hand, but didn't take it from the case, and although she declared they would have to carry her out, she finally went peaceably. Constable Constable Carter was left in possession of the house, well fortified with pro visions amd cisrars and tobacco. Bishop's attorneys, Morse & Case- Case- bier, hadn't given it up yet at last accounts, but were going to try some new move, and Morse went to Holton yesterday to see Judge My ers. The company has been trying a long while t get possession, and Bishop has been on the farm for three years by virtue of a lease on ly, but his attorneys have managed to keep the company out of its pro perty, in spite of the general ex pression that "Bishop hasn't a leg to stand on. Later developments are that Bishop is back on the place, and a restraining order has been issued by Judge Myers against anybody and everybody interfering with him. A Toujrh Family. in
