Eric Backlund, Ramsay, Is Dead BESSEMER--Eric Backlund, 81, Bessemer township, died Sunday at the Divine Infant Hospital in Wakefield. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 at the J. J. Frick Home here with the Rev. Keith Morey officiating. Burial will be Hillcrest Cemetery. The funeral home will be open starting at Wednesday. Mr. Backlund was b o r Waasa, Finland, Dec. 8, 1876. He came to this country in 1897 settled at Ramsay. He had lived on a farm near Ramsay and worked for the township. He was married to Riita Orling Dec. 25, 1911. She survives him, together w i t h three daughters, Mrs. Esther Chovan and Mrs. Ellen Allen, R a m s a y , Gladys -Newman of Chicago, and three sons, Albin of Wakefield Nestor and J o h n of There are 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He leaves two brothers, Henry in Minnesota and another brother in Finland, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Fabler of Ramsay and and Marie in Finland.
