The Cincinnati Enquirer Donna Carol Halpin supported Holy Cross as athletic booster BY SHARON MORGAN The Cincinnati Enquirer Donna Carol Halpin, past president president of the Holy Cross High School Athletic Boosters Association, Association, died of heart failure Wednesday Wednesday while on vacation in Florida. The Fort Wright, Ky., resident was 51. "All she wanted to be was a good mother and wife. She was a leader who thought of everyone else first," said her husband of 33 years, John A. Halpin. "She got enjoyment out of it. She was concerned with doing things right." The homemaker was supportive supportive in every activity her children were involved in, her husband said. She became involved when their children were attending Holy Holy Cross grade school, where she served as the president of the mothers' club. Lynn Bedingfield of Taylor Mill, Ky., who met Mrs. Halpin 20 years ago at Holy Cross grade school, said that she was a fun, loving person. OBITUARIES I J "It was instant chemistry be tween us. We had so many clans for the fu- fu- Halpin ture," Bedingfield said. When her children entered Holy Holy Cross High School, Mrs. Halpin worked the door at every home basketball game. As fund-raisers, fund-raisers, fund-raisers, the booster club assisted with an annual alumni dance, golf outings and craft shows. Mrs. Halpin was named an honorary honorary member of St. Helen's Altar Society of Holy Cross. "You knew that whatever you asked her . . she would do. You could not be around Donna and not have a good time," said Judy Borchers of Latonia, Ky., secretary secretary and soccer coach at Holy Cross High School. "She was an avid fan of basketball and soccer at Holy Cross. It will never be the same without her." Mrs. Halpin and her husband coached girls softball teams for 10 years at the Latonia Youth Club. Mrs. Halpin is also survived by four daughters: Terri Kincaid of Latonia; Shelley Schultz of Florence; Florence; Jennifer Halpin and Julie Halpin, both of Fort Wright; a sister, Connie Rieger of Sidney, Ohio; and one grandchild. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church St., Latonia. Visitation Visitation will be 4-7 4-7 4-7 p.m. today at A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home, 106 S. Fort Thomas Ave. Burial will be at Mother of God Cemetery in Covington.
