Jacob Zimmerman Death
AGED SOLDIER PASSED AWAY JACOB ZIMMERMAN SUCCUMBED LAST EVENING ILL FOR SEVERAL DAYS Jacob Zimmerman, an aged soldier and a well known character about town, died last night at eight o'clock from general debility at his home 100 north Maple street. He was sick four days before death ensued. The deceased was born in Schuylkill county 74 years ago, and was a resident resident of Mount Carmel for the last 13 years. He fought in the Civil War having been one of the first to enlist in the 50th regiment of the Pennsylvania Pennsylvania volunteers. Uesides the wife three brothers, Joseph, Pottsville, Frank, Scranton; Charles, Ashland and two sisters Sua-lana, Sua-lana, Sua-lana, now Mrs. Aaron Yoder, Numidia; and Lizzie, now Mrs. Heim, Johnstown aie the only survivors. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon. Services will be held at the home at two o'clock with Rev. Gonser, pastor of the Reformed church officiating. The three o'clock trolley car will be taken for the Oak Hill cemetery where interment will be made. Undertaker Dyke will be in charge. !
