Page 2B NEWS-HERALD, Panama City, Fia., Sunday, April 15.1973 Bay Cops Niceville Meet Bay High's tracic and field team, fresh from a victory in the first annual Niceville invitational meet, will have a busy week. The Tornadoes, who participated in a meet in Montogomery, Ala., Saturday, will engage in a meet with Rutherford and Pensacola Escambia here Tuesday, and a meet with Rutherford and Quincy Shanks here Thursday, plus competing in the Southern relays in Mobile, Ala., Saturdav. Bay meets Leon April 27 in Tallahassee. Both Bay and Rutherford will compete in the district meet here May 4. Bay scored 90Vi points, Niceville S8^, Choctawhatchee 55, Rutherford 32, Fort Walton Beach High 19 and Pensacola Catholic six in the Niceville meet. Bay's two mile relay team set a new school record of 8:17 in winning that event. Shell, Mike Smith, Steve Millaway and Lloyd Gainer ran on the team. Shell won the two mile in 10:12, his best time of the year, Arthur Mack won the 100 in 10:02 with Paul Williams second. Bay won the 880 relay in 1:30.9, the 440 relay in 44.1 and was second to Niceville ii. the sprint medley, mile and distance relays. Bob Howard won the shot put with 48-7. Henry Davis was first in the long jump and Stanley Hill second. Jimmy Scott was fifth in the discus. Rutherford's Rick Bringger won the high jump with a 6-2 leap, with Bay's Bernard Smith tied for fourth. Bay's Carlton Cleveland was second and Tom Turk in the pole vault, while Rutherford's Etave Harris was third. Rutherford's Johnny Clewis was fourth in the long jump, Rutherford was third in the sprint medley relay and fourth in the mile and two mile relays. The Rams's Don Martin was third in the discus and fifth in the hiRh hurdles.
