DIVIDEND DECLARED Pure Oil Company Divides Profits of Several Years Dividing profits that have been ac- cumulatoing for several years, directors of the Pure Oil Company, with headquarters in the Lafayette Building, Philadelphia, have declared, in ad- 'dition to'the regular dividend of 6 per cent., an extra cash dividend of 50 per cent. The SS per cent, dividends amount to- $2,539,737. : The last dividend paid by the Pure Oil Company was In 1914, when 5 per cent was distributed. • The Quaker Oil Company, however, a. subsidiary of the Pure Oil Company, paid in April, 1914, a 500 per cent, dividend upon its $50,000 stock. Refineries of the Pure Oil Companj' are at Marcus Hopk to which oil is carried by pipe line and otherwise from thf company properties in Oklahoma, Illin'ois, Louisiana and Pennsylvania. The big dividend, payable March 15, to stock of record March S—books closed March S t*> March 15. inclusive was made possible, in part, by the huge accumulation of crude oil on the company's holdings in the Gushing oil field, Oklahoma. Two years ago the company drilled successful wells at Gushing, which are still producing 3.500 barrels a day. Sixty-two tanks, holding 52,000 barrels each, were erected and filled with crude oil. Most of this oil has just been sold, thirty-five tanks to the Carter Oil Company and eighteen tanks to the Cosden Oil and Gas Company. Stockholders at their annual meeting have elected M. Murphy, president: W. C. McBride. vice president; X. H. Weber, secretary" and treasurer; W. J. HI gins, first assistant secretary, and P. Harrington, second assistant secretary. J. A. Fawcett. A. B. Reiber and X. H. 'Weber were elected to the directorate, succeeding W. F. Haas, W. L. Curtis and Lt Emery. Directors reelected were M. Murphy. E. H. Jennings. L, Walz, T. W. Phillips, ,Tr.. T. B.
