Ringgold Gunner In England Is Promoted To Sgt AN EIGHTH AIR FORCE LIBERATOR LIBERATOR STATION, England, Oct. 20.—Curtis E. Aherroh, 'of Ring? gold, Va., has been promoted from corporal to sergeant, as announced announced by Colonel Lav/rerice M. Thomas, Thomas, of Cooper, Texas, commanding a B-25 Liberator group operating from an American heavy bomber base in East Anglia. Sgt. Aherron is the son of E. I. Aherron, of Ringgold, Virginia. Since arriving overseas in July, 1944, it has been his duty to participate participate in several high altitude, precision bombing ,attacks as a waist gunner on a four-engined bomber. Before securing. employment as a Dan River Cotton Mill worker, of Danville, Va., he attended the Dan River High School. He entered the army in March, 1943, at Camp Lee, Va., and received basic gaining gaining at Miami Beach, Fla. Later he attended Armament school at Denver, Colo., and gunnery school at Laredo, Texas.
