Year's Business Is Terminated By Club At a meeting at the Hilton hotel Sunday . afternoon, South Plains Navy Mothers club conducted an election of officers to serve- during 1&44. Mrs. James Samson presided for the business hour and elected were: Mrs. A, C. Sanders, commander; first vice commander, Mrs.- Goldie Gamble; second vice commander, Mrs. John R. Hall; adjutant, Mrs. John R. McKir.ley; financial chairman, Mrs. A. P. Spence; chaplain, Mrs. William F. Cole; judge advocate, Mrs. Frederick H. Zeitz; matrons at arms, Mesdames H. T. Wilkins and George W. Blair; color, bearers, Mesdames D. A'. Forbess and George W. Tate. A board of trustees was named to consist of Mesdames L. Walthall H. G. Lawson and J. A. Blackwell nad on the board of directors w>ll be Mesdames Samson, O. B Power, Hazel Reed, Leete Jackson, L B. Wright, E. L. Butler, Samantha Albey, S. B. Hay, A. T. Cocanougher, J. B. Walker, Fred'Rog- ers, E. E. Caddell. -,' Mrs. Lillian Butler accompanied Elaine and Sandra Sherrod as they san "Santa Claus Has Come to Town." . ' Mrs. Paul Sherrod, Mrs. Grace White and.Miss Betty Sue Rabun were other visitors and Mrs. E. L. Butler was received as as a member. • The club will not have another meeting until the -second Sunday in January at which time the new officers will be installed.
