Janice Herron shower
Shower Given for Miss Janice Herron COON RAPIDS — Janice Herron of Des Moines, was honored at a miscellaneous shower in the Fellowship Hall of First Methodist Church in Coon Rapids on Saturday evening. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Herron of Earlham, formerly of Coon Rapids. Miss Vitta Nelsen of Audubon was in charge of the program. Mrs. Duane Herron played two piano solos, Mary Roller of Des Moines conducted a quiz game and Mrs. Delbert Ford, accompanied by Mrs. Leverne Smith, sang two songs. Janice was assisted in opening her gifts by Gloria Bower and Mrs. Jerry Bower of Fort Dodge. Serving was from a table spread with an orchid cloth overlaid by a hand crocheted tablecloth made by Janice's grandmother, the late Mrs. Wilson Herron. A bouquet of garden flowers centered the table. The bride-to-be's mother and grandmother, Mrs. Wilbur Herron and Mrs. Warren Bower poured. About sixty guests were present. The hostesses were Mrs. Clayton Roller of Glidden, Mrs. Emmert Nelsen of Audubon, Mrs. Donald Herron, Mrs. Duane Herron, Mrs. W. C. Herron Jr. of Carlisle, Mrs. Robert Kepple of Des Moines, Mrs. Gene Crouch and Mrs. Gene Hilgenberg, both of Bayard, Mrs. Lyle Sievors, Mrs. Ethel Bower, Mrs. Bob Shaffer of Ames, Mrs. Jim Anderson, Mrs. Don Sorenson and Mrs. Edna Betts. Janice will become the bride of David Cade of De Soto at First Methodist Church in Coon Rapids on August 5.
