Dearths, KENNETH L. HERRON GUTHRIE CENTER — Kenneth Lee Herron, 69, of Guthrie Center died April 26 at the Guthrie County Hospital here. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Guthrie Center, with the Rev. Edward Schaller officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Banks, Hubert Banks, Hubert Stewart, Walter Slaybaught, Gerald Cline and Frank Brady. Interment was in Orange Township Cemetery. Mr. Herron, son of Milton and Nettie Parker Herron, was born May" 18, 1906, in Orange township, Guthrie County. On Feb. 14, 1938, he married Elizabeth Loeffler and they farmed in Orange township until about five years ago, when they retired and moved into Guthrie Center. Mr. Herron enjoyed playing his violin at dances and won many fiddlers' contests around the county; after moving to town he enjoyed bowling. . He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his stepmother, Mrs. Bertha Herron, of Coon Rapids; four half-sisters, Mrs. Faye Shank of Scranton, Mrs. Opal Kopaska of Casey, Mrs. Nellie Herron Hansen and Mrs. Jean Herron Peat of San Diego, Calif.; and six half-brothers, Beryl Herron of Coon Rapids, Forrest and Ivan of Minnesota, Rex of Palmdale, Calif., Joe and Zenas of San Diego. Mr. Herron was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
