Rescuers honing in on the airplane's emergency radio locator signals arrived at the 10,000-foot high crash site on Sugarloaf Mountain Sunday afternoon and found the survivors cold, but "alive and ambulatory." San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies said pilot Walter Laun, 49, his wife, Shirley, John McDonald, 50, and his wife, Mildred, survived 10-degree temperatures Saturday night because they remained in the plane's cabin. They were taken to March AFB Hospital with minor injuries. The plane had disappeared from radar scopes in heavy weather just after noon Saturday on a flight from Glendale, Ariz., to Lancaster. Authorities said heavy ice formed on the wings of the plane causing it to crash. Meanwhile, the fate of four others missing since Friday on a mercy flight from Santa Barbara, to San Carlos, Mexico, was uncertain as rescuers remained grounded in Carlsbad, by steady rains. Those aboard the missing craft were pilot Gregory Ramallo, 50, Richard Vargas, Carpinteria and Royce and Sally Ewing of Santa Barbara. the for I guy a
