Forest Fires Rage In South; One Fatality San Bernardino, Caljf. - Ml An uncontrolled, wind-whipped fire which has blackened more than 4,400 acres.of brush and cilrus groves and deslfoyed three ranch homes and numerous numerous other ranch buildings claimed its first life today. Fire headquarters said Edwin Edwin D. Bass, 27, Riverside, a bulldozer operator, died this morning in * St. Bernardino's hospital of burns suffered when he was trapped by flames about 15 miles from a sudden shift of V. a here after wind.
