1938 upper Wise River country - handicap years Lieut. Gov. Hugh Adair is back...
handicap years Lieut. Gov. Hugh Adair is back in town after a fishing trip into Wise river country where he did all right for a youngster. He's not divulging the exact number of fish he and his party brought in but was close to the limit--of course couldn't be a wee mite beyond! In the party were Mr. and Mrs. Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Otto Algho of Spokane, Steve Garwood of Washington, D. C., and Mr. and Mrs. Adair. * · * They packed In on horseback really roughed it, living in tents because there weren't any cabins that wilderness. They had a couple of guides along and stayed there in that 8,000-foot Wise river country for a week. The lieutenant governor says the grayling were thick they got into his boots he waded into the river. The size of his boots, he comments, and his fishing ability accounts for luck which, to put it mildly, borders on the phenomenal. » * *
