Spoolstra Ordained In Three Oaks Installed As Church Paslor THREE OAKS -- The ordination ordination and installation of the Rev. Franklin Spoolstra as pastor of the First Reformed church of Three Oaks was held this week at a special service in Ihe church. The service was conducted conducted by the Rev. Cecil Martens, Martens, president of the Knlama- zoo classis and pastor of the Haven Reformed church of Kalamazoo. Dr. W i l l i a m C. Brownson, Jr., professor at Western Theological Theological seminary in Holland, delivered delivered the sermon. The Rev. Joel Bensema, pastor pastor of the Community Reformed church of Hopkins, gave the charge to the minister and the charge to the congregation was given by Key. John Klcinhcksel of the Hope Reformed church, South Haven. The service concluded concluded with a benediction by the Rev. Spoolsfra. Rev. Spoolstra succeeds Rev. Fred LiRhtenbcrg as pastor of the local church. Rev. Liglifcn- berg died of a heart attack last January. Since thai t i m e the church pulpit has been filled each Sunday by supply pastors and seminary students. Rev. Spoolstra was born in Chicago and spent his youth in that city as well as in Minnesota, Minnesota, Iowa, and California. Following his graduation from high school and his return to Chicago he worked in an office, al sales work, and in business before Inking up studies at the Chicago City Junior college.
