Services Held For Joe Smith, 83 50 Year Lumberman Funeral Smith services for were held from Joe the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday afternoon. Interment Interment was in the Pattison Cemetery. Rev. Harrol Waterbury Waterbury officiated. Mr. Smith was born in Robertson Robertson County, March 12, 1880. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Smith.' He came to this area with his parents parents as a child. They then moved away and Mr. Smith came back to Brookshire from his home in Sommerville as a young man. On July 1,1908 he was married to Miss Olga Hammerling. The couple have lived here all of their married life. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1958. He was in the lumber business here for 50 years. Ik- still sold fence posts, wire and other items across from his home. Survivors include his wife Olga, his son, Hugh, his si-ter, Mrs, Mollie Godkin of Houston and a number of nieces and nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Frank Gostecnik, Tom Gassner, Lynn Sturm, Melvin Scott, Kenneth Elkins, and Alois Kutra.
