BREAKER TEAM WON PREUMIMARY IN PLAINS II. Five first aid teams of the Plains district of the Pennsylvania Coal Co. held their preliminary first aid contest last evening in the Y. M. C A. build ing. A large number of mine ployes from the Southern District and also many outsiders Interested in first aid work witnessed the instructive event. : The work was carried out under the direction of Dr. Mahon, who is employ. ed by the company to instruct the employes in this particular line of work. At the close of (the contest, Dr". Mahon paid a high tribute to the members of the different teams for the ability they had displayed in treating the injured men throughout the different events. The judges were; Dr. ilenrichs, David M. Howell, and Alexander Sloan. ' The five teams in the contest were as follows: Breaker team, No. 1 Arthur Brown, captain; John Dirk, James Campbell, John Munley, Moses Hal lantine. James Morris, subject. ' Big vein team. No. 2 Thomas Muir, captain; Alex. Graham, Charles Wil liams, Mike Moughan, John Clark, James Hohan, subject. Drifts team. No. 3 George Parry, captain; William Kearney, Joseph Sanders, William Austin, John Duffy, George Roskee, subject. Coutright Slope team, No. 4 Wil liam Muir, captain; Clarence Robinson, Patrick La veil, Harry Austin, It. G. Smith, John Dargis, subject. Checker vein team.
