ots ma mm WIFE Failure to Effect Reconciliation Blamed for Tragedy FOUND ON BED Relatives Discover Bodies 24 Hours After Shooting an CANTON, Dec. 19 (#)—When Howard Widmer, 27-year-old barber, failed in an attempt to effect a reconciliation with his estranged wife, Sarah, 27, he took their eight-year-old son to the homp; of a brother, returned to the home of his wife, shot her to death and then turned the gun on himself. Their'bodies were found, in a bedroom today after relatives had broken into the home. I The shooting tragedy occurred Sunday at 1118 18th St., NE, and was discovered shortly after Sunday midnight by relatives who went to the home to investigate when telephone calls brought ho response. Separated One Month According'to police information Mr. and Mrs. Widmer had been separated about a month. Mrs. Widmer and her son by a previous marriage, Raymond eight, remained at-the 18th.. st. address.
