21 Lives in State BT THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Violent deatlas claimed at least 21 lives in Texas over the weekend with traffic mishaps accounting for 13 of the fatalities. One man was killed in a plane crash while the others died in miscellaneous violence. The Associated Press tabulation covered the period from 6 p.m. Friday until midnight Sunday. Stan Owens of Pearsall was killed Sunday when his crop dusting Mrs. Doyle Howell, 19, of Hurst died in a Fort Worth hospital Sunday of injuries received in a head- on highway collision near Mansfield. Nine other persons were injured in the Saturday night crash. Clinton Ruebens Aikens Jr., 27- year-old Houston negro, was shot to death Friday night. Police said he was killed when a drinking companion started shooting at Aikens’ dog and the victim tried to protect the animal.
