Bowie High Student Wins Poster Contest The Woman't Club today announced announced winners in Its Poster Contest. Contest. Art students of Bowie High School almost made a clean «weep of the contest, sponsored by the Woman's Club Art Department. The posters are to be used in publicity lor the Open Air Art Show Friday and Saturday. First prize went to Raul Chavez. 16, of Bowie High School. He also won the prize for the poster showing showing the most originality. Second prize was won by Joe Jordan, 17, of Bowie High. Third prize went to Ricard* Lara, 17, of Bowie High School. Raul Norte of Jefferson High School; Johnny McLellan, 18, of Bowie, Patricio Chavez, Bowie, and Ernesto Menchaca, 18, of Bowie won honorable mention. Posters were judged on the basis of carrying power, color and composition. composition. Judges were Mrs. Kate Ball, Helen Bilger and Eugene Thurston. The prize winning posters will be displayed in downtown hotels and stores.
