However, I am graining • strength slowly and hope to be able to attend the gathering of the correspondents at Live Oak, May 11. Ed's Note: Glad you're getting well and planning to come to the picnic. John F. Smith and wife of China Creek, O. B. Sturdivant and wife of San Saba were recent week-end visitors visitors in the C. K. Smith home. T. S. Lemon, wife and some of the smaller children spent last Saturday night in the Wooster home. A-Makirig Mattresses Mrs. Jim Lafferty has been ap pointed to serve in the writer's plac at- a member of the Cat Claw mat tress committee. Mrs. Lafferty anc her husband together with Mrs. R M. Wooster and Mrs. Jesse'Wooste met with some of the Live Oak com mittee last Tuesday and learned hov, to make mattresses. Cat Claw wil have several eligible for. free mat tresses and we all plan to .go along when our community has its days t work and learn about mattress mak ing. Murray Haselden recently shearec. some lambs for J. W. Smith and Clifford Letbetter and they sent the lambs to the Fort Worth market las Monday. J. W. Smith was in Fort Worth on business the first part of last week community Friday, taking the census. Joe M. Smith was shaking hands with the voters out our way Fridayj He is the first candidate to visit us this year, but someone has to make the start. Double Birthday Celebration Mrs. R. M. Wooster and Mrs. Jim Lafferty celebrated their birthday anniversaries anniversaries together with a supper on the river Friday night. The men had caught quite a few fish and the ladies prepared everything imaginable imaginable almost, in the way of good eats and a sumptuous feast was spread. Those enjoying the occasion were E. H. Norris and wife from town, R. M. Wooster and wife, Jim Lafferty and wife and Jesse Wooster with his wife. Those visiting in our home during the week-end were Seth Williams and wife of San Antonio, Clovis Letbetter and family, Alva Letbetter and wife and Mary Ligon. Our daughter has her annual vacation at this time so is spending the week with us. Miss Jones Re-Elected Teacher Cat Claw closed another successful successful year of school work Friday. Miss Madie Flora Jones has been our teacher teacher for the past three years and I understand she has been asked to take the school again, well for Miss Jones. This speaks Miss Frances Tyler visited home- iolks during the week-end. Clifford Tyler has a cousin by the name of Loggain visiting with him at this time. Visitors in the Wooster home Saturday Saturday night for a few hours were Jim Lafferty and wife, Mack Tyler and daughter, Frances, also two of his sons, Clifford and M. C. Tyler E. T. Letbetter and Seth Williams. *orty-two and chatting were the diversions diversions for the evening. J. W. Smith and wife and Mary Ligan spent a few hours in the Wooster Wooster home Sunday afternoon.
