DMA elects Welborn To get all Grand Prairie merchants involved in the Downtown Merchants Association this year is one of the major goals of newly elected president of the DMA, Don Welborn. Officers for the coming year were elected elected at a DMA meeting Tuesday night at Kamada Inn when 18 members attended, which is reportedly one of the largest turn-outs for the association in recent months. Other new officers include I'Yank Smith of DAL-CO, 113 W. Main, vice president; Kvelyn Wray of Wray's Music Shop, 126 K. Main, secretary - treasurer, and Myrna Myrna Matthews of Fancy Pants, 116-A E. Main, assistant secretary - treasurer. The newly elected president is with /ale's .Jewelers. 102 W. Main. Outgoing president is Floyd Smith of Camera Land, 103 W. Main. Welborn said the merchants' association association was the center of discussion at the Tuesday dinner meeting, and the group plans to make a giant effort to promote the downtown area this year to bring more shoppers to the area. He said various promotions for downtown downtown are being planned, and the group also will make an effort to fill some of the vacant buildings in the downtown area.
