If he can use some men of color for a selfish purpose there are others he cauuot use. There was a large crowd at the Bethel Liteary on last Tuesday evening to listen to a paper by Rev. vV. A. Siuclair, This was the opening of this historic society. The fair at 19 st. Bapt. church will continue 3 weeks longer. On next Monday evening Nov. 19th, there will be a grand Harrison supper. supper. Admission 25c supper free. All Sherman men are requested to meet Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock o'clock in the Barbour law building 0th and La. ave. n. w. The Cadets will oive a reception reception Thanksgiving Light at their armory 70S Ostn. w. Admission 25 cts. A Bee scribe saw J. Milton Turner Tuesday afternoon standing standing at the corner of 9th and F sts. n.w. holding up a lanip post. J. Milton was iu a wonder. The Mt. Carmel Lyceum and the Female Capital City Guards, will give a graud concert and exhibition drill on Wednesday and Thursday evening, Nov. 23th and 29th 1888. Admission 15 cents good music. The Capital Benefit Club No. 4, will give a prize entertainment at the Cadets armory, O st. bet. 7th& sth sts. n. w. Friday evening Nov. 30th 18SS. Admission 10 cents. All persons selling tickets for this club will please make returns to C. H. Watson, 300 N. Y. ave. before Thursday Thursday Nov. 29th. Dr. John R. Francis, interview in Friday's star is an evidence of his supreme ignorence of the management management ot our colored schools. He has proven himsell to be an ignoramus ignoramus on school matters and a tool iu the hands of white men. His personal dislike for Dr. Cook, is this week. He is one of the most handsome and digoified men of the negro race. PARADE NOTES. The Tammany caused a great deal of attraction. R. S. Fletcher knows how to get up a parade.. The Fifth division took the cake. "Look out for Tammany" the cry along the line. was OAFftAL CITY GUARD. This wsll known and popular organization will celebrate its 8th anniversaryriday Dec. 7th by a grand parade in the day, and a grand levee at Willards Hall in the eveuing.
