PAGE 4, THE VINDICATOR, Liberty, Texas, Thursday, March 23, Talent Show Success Mrs. Barbara Norwood, American Field Service sponsor, announced the Friday night talent show held at the Liberty High School auditorium to be a outstanding success. E n o u g h money was raised,” Mrs. Norwood said ‘ to enable Liberty to have another foreign student this coming school year.” The talent show is the principle money raising event for AFS. At intermissions the Liberty High School stage band, under the direction of Bill Howe, rendered an outstanding performance Mrs. Norwood said. Overall winner of the talent show went to Markie Turner for her piano solo. First place winner for Liberty High School went to Linda Hearin for her vocal rendition of “Whispering In The Dark". She was accompanied by Laurie Vinson. Second place went to Russell Wiles for a vocal rendition of Somewhere. Third place winner was a band, Evil Ways composed of Bobby McKinney, Alex Havard, Randy Wiggins, Dwight Brownlee and Luke Wells. Junior High School first place winner was the clarinet trio composed of Chri Malone, Tina Barnes and Leslie Schwille. Second place went to Soul Trumpets, a group composed of Donna Bracewell, Melissa Gossett, Deidra McKinney, Alex Alford, Sheree Aycock, Deena and Debbie Buckalew, Susan Hair, Chris Malone, David Brownlee, Rusty Hendricks, Wesley Robbins, Timmy Halfin, Lydia Parker, Kerry Taylor, Paul Gordy, Hill Johnson, Mary Allen, wanda Kerry and Brenda Bracewell. ’ Third place went to Janie Knowell for her tap solo.
