July 22, 1756; two soldiers belonging to Capt. Steel's Company near M'Dowell's Mill, one scalped the other supposed carried off. Dutchman and his wife were scalped near Philip Dabie's on MD side of the line. Jacob Peeple wife scalped and two children a boy and girl carried away; Salmon, shoemaker is missing.
