LawrenceE, Eckert Lawrence E. Eckert, 71, of 129 Liberty St., Jamestown, Pa., formerly of Mapleton, died Tuesday, Feb. 26,1980, at 6:30 p.m., In the Greenville Hospital, Greenville, following a year of illness. Born May 20,1908, in Minot, N. D., he was the son of Lewis and Martha (Rossow) Eckert. On May 7,1968, he was united in marriage with Dorothy Kissiel Winans. His wife survives. Also surviving are a son, Richard Eckert, Cleveland, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mrs. John (Helen) Peresghetti, Jamestown; two sisters, Mrs. Mike (Geraldine) Novak, Conneautville, and Madeline Brown, Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and ten step great - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald, of Conneautville. Mr. Eckert was a member of the Protestant faith. Employed by Greenville Steel Car as a welder, he retired in 1968. Funeral services will be held at the James W. Baird Funeral Home, Liberty St., Jamestown, Pa., on Saturday, March 1, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Richard C. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
