Karen Drayer marries David Philson
Philson and Drayer Vows Pledged in Wesleyan Rite The Oak Grov e Wesleyan Methodist Church was t h e scene of the wedding Friday, July 23, of Miss Karen Drayer, daughter of Mrs. Lois Drayer, Clarks Mills, and the late R. J. Drayer and D. Bruce Philson, Philson, son of Mr. and Mrs. 0. David Philson, Merc e r RD 4. Asters and daisies formed a colorful background for the rite which was solemnized at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Jack Crouse. Organist for the ceremony was the groom's aunt, Mrs. Donna Rose of Fredonia RD 1, and soloist was his father, 0. David Philson. Lace Over Satin The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Blaine Hawes of Clarks Mills RD, appeared in a lovely gown of white lace over satin. The gown, designed with full-length, tapered sleeves and empire waistline detailed with a satin bow, was enhanced by a panel of lace secured at the back neckline. She carried a bridal bouquet of lavender asters and yellow daisies centered with a corsage and fashioned with long sleeves and empire waistlines, with the maid Of honor and junior bridesmaid in lavender and the bridesmaid in yellow. Their flowers were similar to the bride's but with white daisies and a'single streamer. David Philson of Mercer RD 4, a cousin of the groom, was best man. Ushers were James Alexander and Larry McCurdy, friends of the groom. • Lavender and Yellow The bridal colors of lavende and yellow were continued i the decorations for th reception which followed at th New Vernon Grange. The bride was attired in a yellow A-line dress with whit daisy appliques and long, shee sleeves when the couple left fo accented by two streamers'. Miss Sander Drayer of Clarks Mills, the brjde's sister, was maid of honor. Miss Diane Philson, the groom's sister, was a bridesmaid, and Miss Tina Drayer,. also a sister of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid. bridesmaid.
