CIPIHL CITY William Sheley Was Once Sheriff of Callaway ' County William M. Sheley, 81 years old, former iherift of Callawey county and » resident of Jefferson Jefferson City for twenty-two year», died of complications of old at his home, ' 1045 · E. street, last night. Sheley, employed as a guard at the Missouri state prison, was injured in a fall last October October and had been incapacitated since then. He was born in Callaway county where he made his horqe until twenty-two years ago when he moved here. While he lived in Callaway, he served a term as sheriff and after he moved Jefferson City, he was Democratic Democratic candidate for constable. Surviving him are eight children, children, Paul, Woody and Ruth Sheley and Mrs. Thurman Vaughn of Jefferson City; Morton Morton and Harry Sheley of Detroit; Detroit; Frank Sheley of Reno, Nev.; and Vannelle Sheley of Columbia. One brother, Ben Sheley of Fulton, and two ' sisters, Nannie Carrington of Carrington .and Mrs. Thomas Howe of Guthrie, also survive. There are six grandchildren. He was a member of the Cumberland . Presbyterian church and of the Modern Woodman America. The body was taken to J. Gordon funeral chapel. Funeral Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
